Working is from the Lord and we were made in His image and likeness both to work as He did when He created the heavens and the earth in it’s fullness and trained us to both work and rest.

 

Adam was given a job in Gen 2:15 NKJV,  "Then the Lord took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work and keep it."

Adam was also given the task to name the animals. Gen 2:19. 

 

Those who are able to work should do so.

 

1 Timothy 5:8  " But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

2 Thessalonians 3:10  “For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living."
