Tithing

Tithing started in Gen 1:26, God creates man, gives him dominion over All the earth then, Gen 2:16 " And the Lord God commanded the man saying " Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."  Here we see the fear of the Lord that should lead to obedience.  Not walking in the fear of the Lord is self consciousness - sin, fear based, poverty mentality, keeps us from entering into his abundance. 

Tithing is proof of the Fear of the Lord actively working in our life, our expression of the circumcision of the heart.

As a principle of understanding to Tithe is God conscious.

Not tithing is self conscious, it is motivated by self efforts, and for self.  This could be self sustainment not relying on the Lord who provides everything and keeps us in a poverty mindset.

 Deuteronomy 26 explains we bring the tithe because I was a slave and am no longer a slave.

In Genesis 14:18-24, there is a king priest named Melchizedek that seems to come out of nowhere and brings the symbol of communion in bread and wine, he then blesses Abram and Abram gives him a tithe of all. 

Hebrews 7 reveals more about Melchizedek who's name also means king of righteousness and he was king of Salem translated as king of peace.  He was also referred to have been made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.  Verse 8 "Here mortal men receive tithes, but there He receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives."     - Tithing points to Jesus' resurrection that he lives!

Tithing perfects the soil bed for our seeds to increase to more.  So whatever you do prospers. Kind of like a greenhouse which is the environment that maximizes the potential for growth and a harvest.
